Biography

Aulo Licinio is an animation supervisor at Framestore. Licinio's earlier career includes animation roles on films such as Piranhaconda (2012), Dust (2014), and Victor Frankenstein (2015), followed by work on high-profile features including The Legend of Tarzan (2016), Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), and Alien: Covenant (2017). During this period, he advanced from animator and senior animator positions to lead animator, notably on Paddington 2 (2017). At Framestore, Licinio became closely associated with the Fantastic Beasts franchise, serving as animation supervisor on Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022). His supervisory work extended to family and adventure films such as Tom & Jerry (2021), Peter Pan & Wendy (2023), My Spy: The Eternal City (2024), and Paddington in Peru (2024). Licinio's television work includes the BBC and HBO series His Dark Materials (2019), where he served as animation supervisor on the first season. His work on the armoured bear Iorek Byrnison, particularly in episode eight, "Betrayal" (2019), earned him an Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement for Character Animation in an Animated Television/Broadcast Production. In addition to film and television, Licinio has contributed to animated features and music videos, including Sheep & Wolves (2016), Lino (2017), and the music video Kaytranada: Lite Spots (2016).
