Omar Figueroa (born June 13, 2007 in Oyster Bay, New York) is an American filmmaker, writer, and director known for his work in short and student film projects. Of Mexican heritage, Omar grew up with a passion for storytelling and visual arts that emerged at a young age and has steadily evolved into a promising creative career. From his early days in Oyster Bay, Omar demonstrated a strong creative drive, exploring film, music, and photography. His artistic interests led him toward film production in high school, where he wrote, directed, and produced several original works, earning him recognition in youth film circles. Omar made a notable impact with his 2024 psychological horror short KNOCK, KNOCK!, a suspenseful student film that explores fear and perception through the experiences of a young boy haunted by mysterious voices. The film’s premiere at the Long Island Youth Film Festival marked an important milestone in his early filmmaking career. Beyond KNOCK, KNOCK!, his body of work includes additional shorts and feature-length projects under development, such as Taken (2025) and The Other Side of Us, where he took on multiple creative roles — from writing and directing to producing.
